What happens in the brain while we think? How can we stop viruses from spreading? Such are the questions, which the scientists at the DPZ address. Their professional training and their research topics are as diverse as their methods and their results. What they have in common is: They research basic biological and biomedical questions about the functioning of the body and about evolution and behavior by studying non-human primates. Included are also studies on and the preservation of primate populations in the wild and the improvement of the conditions of animal keeping.
