PHILADELPHIA, PA — Increasing knowledge about genomic biomarkers has facilitated better monitoring and personalized management of patients with B-cell malignant tumors. A new integrative, capture-based, next-generation sequencing (NGS) panel, LYmphoid NeXt-Generation Sequencing (LYNX), can detect and analyze standard and novel biomarkers in the most common lymphoid neoplasms simultaneously. This represents a crucial step towards more effective personalized treatment of these diseases and facilitates further research, report researchers in The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics.

Genomic profiling by NGS provides novel critical clinical information about prognostic and predictive biomarkers. NGS studies have identified several genomic alterations in hematologic malignant tumors, which have improved our understanding of the disease course as well as the evolution of these neoplasms.
