Researchers at the Mayo Clinic have developed a blood-based immune profiling approach that may improve the detection of germ cell tumors, the most common form of testicular cancer. 

The work, published in the journal Nature Communications, describes a new testing strategy designed to identify cases that can be missed by conventional tumor marker assays.

Testicular cancer most commonly affects adolescents and young adults and is generally highly treatable when diagnosed early.
