LabX Media Group Acquires The Dark Report and Executive War College
Laboratory science coverage in Today’s Clinical Lab complements the business intelligence of The Dark Report

The Dark Intelligence Group (TDIG) announced on March 13, 2025, that it has sold all its information services assets to LabX Media Group of Midland, Ontario, Canada. LabX is the publisher of Today’s Clinical Lab.
This sale involves all TDIG products and services, such as The Dark Report intelligence service, Dark Daily e-briefings, webinars, reports, and events, including the Executive War College on Diagnostic, Laboratory, and Pathology Management, the largest global conference on laboratory management for senior laboratory executives and pathologists.
The deal will give readers of Today’s Clinical Lab more options from which to get their industry information, as The Dark Report provides its subscribers with insider insight and strategic advice on how to earn more market share operating a clinical laboratory. The lab science coverage in Today’s Clinical Lab complements the business intelligence of The Dark Report, allowing LabX Media to offer a more comprehensive range of information for clinical lab professionals.
The Dark Report brings a ‘30-year track record’
In a statement about this transaction, LabX Media Group CEO Bob Kafato said: “We are excited to formally recognize these new additions to the LMG family. TDIG’s flagship publication, The Dark Report, has a 30-year track record of delivering timely business intelligence to the leaders of North America’s most successful clinical laboratories, genetic testing companies, and anatomic pathology groups. During these same 30 years, the Executive War College has become the biggest and the highest-profile laboratory management conference in North America.”
As part of this transaction, TDIG Founder and CEO Robert L. Michel starts his path to retirement. He will be an advisor to LabX Media Group to ensure a smooth transition while continuing to provide strategic consulting services to the laboratory profession.
“This opens a new chapter—both for me as well as for The Dark Report, Dark Daily, and the Executive War College,” stated Michel. “LabX has skilled leadership and the resources necessary to add more value to The Dark Report, Dark Daily, and the Executive War College. It will leverage such fast-changing technologies as artificial intelligence, data services in the cloud, and smart phones to deliver enriched news, analysis, and industry information to the leaders in laboratory medicine and diagnostics.”
