Thomas Ybert, PhD

Thomas Ybert, PhD, is co-founder and CEO of DNA Script, a leading DNA synthesis company with a vision of engineering biology to accelerate breakthroughs in life science. He is also a member of the board of directors since May 2016 and served as chair of the board of directors from May 2016 until October 2021. Prior to co-founding DNA Script, Ybert joined the New Energies division of the French oil and gas company, TotalEnergies SE (NYSE: TOT) where he contributed to the establishment of the bio-fuel collaboration with Amyris, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMRS), a synthetic biotechnology and renewable chemical company, from May 2010 to June 2014. From March 2011 to December 2012, Ybert served as a Metabolic Engineering Project Leader at Amyris. He joined Sanofi S.A. (NASDAQ: SNY), a multinational pharmaceutical company, from March 2006 to February 2010, where he developed a biotherapeutic production platform for oncology based on yeast technologies. Ybert obtained an engineering degree in 2005 and a PhD in 2010 in biotechnology from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France.
