Siew Veena Sahi, MD

Siew-Veena Sahi, MD, is redefining how the world approaches sexual and women’s health as the co-founder and CEO of Testmate Health. Under her leadership, Testmate is pioneering the next generation of low-cost, high-accuracy STI diagnostics to make access to testing easy and affordable for all.

With an emphasis on global health, her journey began in Singapore, was shaped in Geneva, Switzerland, and grew during medical school in London. While on a Tanzanian elective at Mohimbili National Hospital, she saw patients travel long distances for STI testing in antenatal clinics, only to never return for results.

That experience—alongside her work as a contributing researcher on a large WHO workstream to identify low-cost STI tests—sparked her mission to create a rapid, low-cost diagnostic that enables identification and treatment in a single visit, eliminating dangerous loss to follow-up.

Under her leadership, Testmate evolved from a basement startup into a globally recognized innovator, born out of a MassChallenge-winning idea and grounded in real-world medical experience. Beyond Testmate, Siew-Veena is a recognized voice for female founders in healthcare, mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs and advocating for innovation in women’s health.
