Mary M. Mayo, PhD, BCLD (ABB), DABCC, MLS(ASCP), has worked in laboratory medicine for over 25 years, more than 15 of which she served as a clinical laboratory medical director across hospital, reference, and physician-office laboratories. She was the principal investigator on an IRB-approved study with a rheumatology division examining optimal laboratory testing in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, and has spent 15 years working directly with clinicians on test utilization and results interpretation.
