Anne Schmitz, PhD
Dr. Anne Schmitz is a tenured associate professor of engineering and technology at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, currently serving as Department Chair. She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in biomechanics. Dr. Schmitz's research focuses on the intersection of biomechanics, 3D printing, and human-robot interaction. She has a strong record of scholarly publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles and conference presentations, and has actively contributed to the field through her service on editorial boards and conference committees. Prior to her current position, Dr. Schmitz held faculty positions at Gannon University and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Schmitz is an experienced educator with a passion for developing innovative teaching methods. She has designed and taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses, including those in biomechanics, 3D printing, and biomaterials. She is actively involved in ABET accreditation efforts and has a strong commitment to student success.
