Ali Nussbaum, MHHSA, MLS(ASCP)CM, caPM
After discovering a love for science in high school Alexandra Nussbaum (Ali), MHHSA, MLS(ASCP)cm, caPM, pursued her education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in both Genetics and Biochemistry. Only while working in the environmental testing field did she learn about medical laboratory science (MLS) and knew immediately she needed to pursue further education. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and after graduating she moved to Minneapolis, MN, to be closer to her niece and nephew as they grew older. At this point Nussbaum began a successful career in MLS as a microbiologist at Hennepin County Medical Center where she eventually transitioned into laboratory information systems.
Nussbaum enjoys being deeply connected to her community and volunteers her time with numerous organizations. She is an elected member on her neighbor community council in Waite Park Minneapolis. Here she works on several committees to engage the community in meaningful ways. She is also a dedicated coach for a St. Paul Special Olympics team where she has coached numerous sports over the last seven years. Ali has been volunteering time with the professional organization American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science on every level for eight years where she hopes to have a positive impact for her profession.
Nussbaum obtained her masters degree in Health and Human Services Administration at Saint Mary’s University in Minneapolis in 2020 with aspirations to further her career. Recently she has accepted a position at Park Nicollet in St. Louis Park, MN, to be a laboratory technical specialist and is excited for the new opportunity.
